Featherweight Robbie Peralta is making it known that he will be facing Swede Akira Corassani. Facebook and Twitter messages from the Californian fighter have propelled the matchup to the public’s attention.
Corassani told MMA Viking last week that he was expecting a fight soon. The rumored bout is set to take place at UFC 156. The card on February 2nd will be at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The event’s main event is Champ Jose Aldo versus Frankie Edgar for featherweight title.
Peralta is a veteran, fighting pro since 2003. He is 27 years old and trains at Team Xplode MMA in Southern California. “Problems” has 2 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw in the UFC. He KO’d Jason Young in September on the UFC on Fuel TV 5 card in 23 seconds, improving his overall record to 16 wins and 3 losses. On the same card, Akira Corassani won a split decision over Andy Ogle. It was Corassani’s first win in the Octagon after his bouts on The Ultimate Fighter. Overall, the Renzo Gracie Jiu-jitsu fighter has a record of 10 wins and 3 losses. His comeback fight against Ogle came after a long layoff due to injuries.
