Without an opponent for the upcoming Scandinavian Fight Night (SFN), Niklas Bäckström (9-2-1) took to Instagram to surprisingly callout another fighter signed to the card Amir Albazi (7-0), who also lost his planned opponent due to injury. “I like him, he’s a good guy and I hope he does well, but I’ve heard that he has challenged all of Sweden so he can’t expect me to not say anything.” said the UFC veteran about his motivations.

With less than two weeks before the event, MMAViking.com talks to the undefeated Prince, who provided the following comment:

It’s always a bit of sad and irritating when fights are called off last minute due to injuries and other affecting factors. Unfortunately my first opponent got injured last week, and just recently I agreed on fighting the Polish (Rafal Czechowski), I was also challenged by Niklas Bäckström at the same time where he also had an injured opponent. Both Niklas and people that know me know that i will never turn down a fight but i also listen to my manager and team (London Shootfighters) who make decision based on whats best for me. But challenging me in higher weight class 2 weeks before do not seem very classy either.

One of Sweden’s most promising prospects Albazi will be fighting in Sweden for the first time when he steps in the cage at the Solnahallen on June 4th. He is a BJJ World Championships (Blue Belt) is also FILA world champion.  The bantamweight has finished all of his seven fights, and was most recently in the cage in September of 2015 at UCMMA 44.

“And Nicklas if you want to fight me at bantamweight, there is a well established MMA organisation (UCMMA) here in London in July. In any case you are more than welcome to come to London Shootfighters and train with me any day.”

The Allstars Training Center fighter Bäckström does not have an announced for the upcoming SFN bout, but with his BAMMA contract he is scheduled to fight German Attila Korkmaz at featherweight at BAMMA 26 in September.
