Aleksi Toivonen will make his promotional debut tomorrow against Akihiro “Superjap” Fujisawa at ONE: MASTERS OF DESTINY at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. “Great working with the new coaches and new team at Evolve MMA – it’s the whole package” says the Finn to MMA Viking that now calls Singapore home.

“My style is high paced always looking for the submission – I look forward to bring my style to ONE Championship” says the 27-year-old that earned a spot after impressing at Evolve’s global tryouts in November.

“The Giant” comes in with a 6 win, 1 loss, and 1 no contest record. After staying undefeated in his first 7 bouts, the run came to an end last September where he lost by in the first round to Russian Aren Akopyan.

“One championship has the number one flyweight division in the world. If you want to be the best, there is no other way but to beat the best”

Fujisawa has a 5 win and 1 loss record and has also never gone the distance, guaranteeing fireworks. The Japanese fighter does have One Championship experience on his side, going 3 wins in 4 attempts with the leading Asian promotion.

“I don’t have a preference who I fight next. I’m looking for a quick turn around October – November this year and start working my way towards the top of the division”
