Amir “The Prince” Albazi (11-0) made his second Bellator appearance tonight in front of a loud London crowd. Fighting out of London Shootfighters it was evident Albazi was a favourite at the SSE Arena, London. Albazi remained undefeated as he took out 2015 IMMAF World Champion, Iuri Benjari(6-2), in the very first round of the fight.

Last time out Albazi was brought this distance for the first time in his career when he made his Bellator debut against Jamie Powell (6-3). Albazi promised this one wouldn’t meet the same fate, and he kept that promise with a dominant performance.

Albazi came out strong, evidently looking for a way to finish the fight from the off. Once an opening appeared, he cracked his opponent with an uppercut sending Benjari to the canvas. He then proceeded to pounce on him in the hunt for a finish. Following some ground and pound, Albazi took the back, got a hook in and sank in a tight rear-naked choke forcing his opponent to tap with just over a minute left in the bout.

The official time of the stoppage was 3:21 of round 1, becoming the Swede’s 10th pro finish to date.
