Anton Kuivanen (20-8) finally has an opponent.  After the injury of Wesley Murch, Cage promotors have found the experienced Lithuanian Sergej Grecicho (20-5-1) as an opponent just over two weeks to the first event of the year.  The event February 28th’s Cage 29 will take place in Helsinki, Finland.

The promotion has said that “92 refused the fight”!

“I’m hyped that Grecicho took the fight! When my original opponent got injured I immediately stated that I’d fight anyone. I just yearn to quench my thirst for fighting and I don’t care who I’m facing. I’m certain I’ll be adding a W to my record over anyone. Great job by CAGE to manage to find me a valuable opponent regardless of the original opponent getting injured.” –Kuivanen

The 30 year old Kuivanen is one of Finland’s most prominent fighters. He who now represents Primus Fight Team has had mixed results since his 1 win and 2 loss run in the Octagon. The Finn has gone 3 wins and 2 losses in his post-UFC fights, most recently losing by a flying knee to Dakota Cochrane in June of 2014.

“I really don’t care who I’m facing.” said the Finn earlier in the month, that is now finally healthy after fighting for most of his recent career with a string of hampering injuries.

“Grecicho will be a notable win to add to my record. He’s never been knocked out and I’m gonna be happy to be the first one to do it! So the plan is to finish what many notable Finnish fighters have tried before me.” –Kuivanen

Grecicho represents The Knight of Plunge and has mostly fought at featherweight, but will be facing a lightweight in Kuivanen. The 29 year old is on a 9 fight winning streak, which began in 2012. He has beaten other Nordic fighters Joni Salovaara, Jorgen Matsi, and Jerry Kvarnstrom. Grecicho turned pro in 2005.
