Niklas Bäckström won a hard fought decision tonight against Sergej Grecicho at Botnia Punishment XI.  The HILTI fighter stepped in after Greger Forsell was injured on a week’s notice, and impressed the local Finland crowd with a unanimous decision victory. 

ROUND 1
The two tied up in the first round against the ropes, with Bäckström taking his opponent to the matt and quickly taking mount. The Lithuanian fighter was able to quickly make his way to the feet, but the Swede jumped to take his back. After not finding any way to secure a rear-naked choke, Bäckström threw the fighter to the back to work his top game. The round finishes with the lanky Swede on top.


ROUND 2
The two again make the way to the ground, where the grapplers look to prove who is dominant in leg-locks. After exchanging positions, Bäckström finds his way on top and is able to stay aggressive. The Swedish fighter, taking the bout on short notice is looking to have the bout in control.

ROUND 3
Grecicho searched for submissions throughout the third round, with Bäckström surviving some scares. The Swede seemed to have more energy, although the third round he was threatened several times. As the bell rang, Grecicho sat on the floor grasping for air, as the HILTI fighter celebrated.

All judges saw it in favor of Niklas Bäckström by unanimous decision. Bäckström remains undefeated and now improves to 4 wins, no losses, with 1 no contest.
