After Jon Jones knocked out Daniel Cormier to recapture the UFC light heavyweight championship in the main event of Saturday’s UFC 214, he called out an unlikely opponent. “Brock Lesnar … if you want to know what it feels like to get your ass kicked by a guy who weighs forty pounds less than you, meet me in the Octagon.”

While the most anticipated matchup in the light heavyweight division would be with Swede Alexander Gustafsson, due to their UFC 165 five round battle in 2013. The “Mauler” took the champion to the test, and was the first fighter to take-down the fighter and had the American hurt early in the bout, using his reach to repeatedly damage the “Bones.”

Gustafsson Wants to Fight Jones

After the light heavyweight title on Saturday, it was the Allstars Training Center fighter that took to Twitter to call out Jones, and tell him to focus on fighters that are active. The UFC former champion is now the WWE Universal Champion, and still suspended due to testing for a banned substance on the UFC’s anti-doping policy from his UFC 200 bout with Mark Hunt.

Gustafsson remains the top ranked fighter outside of Cormier and Jones, and is coming off an impressive stoppage over Glover Teixeira at UFC Stockholm in May.
