Ilir Latifi (12-5-0, 1 NC) is set for a main card spot on the September 9th UFC 215 card at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Canada.  The Sledgehammer will face unbeaten Australian prospect, Tyson Pedro (6-0).

Ilir Latifi is currently 5-3 inside the Octagon.  The thirty-three year old will be looking for a victory to push him up the UFC rankings, where he currently holds the position of the 10th best 205 lbs fighter in the promotion, with Pedro ranked at 13th.

The Allstars Training Center fighter will be looking to bounce back from his knockout defeat to current Bellator light-heavyweight champion, Ryan Bader. The Swede was the victim of a knockout with a knee which earned the American performance of the night honours.

The Swedish light-heavyweight was due to face ‘Minotauro’ Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC Fight Night 112 in Oklahoma City before an injury prevented the Brazilian from competing.

Pedro represents a tough task for Ilir after defeating The Ultimate Fighter Season 23 runner up, Khalil Rountree on his UFC debut before upsetting previously unbeaten Scottish star Paul Craig.  The Australian was originally slated to face Corey Anderson at UFC on FOX 25 in Long Island, New York but that fight has since been removed from the card with the Australian being moved to UFC 215.

Demetrious Johnson will be looking for his record 11th title defense versus contender Ray Borg in the main event, while Amanda Nunes will rematch Valentina Shevchenko in the co-main to put two belts on the line.
