The Hardknocks Helsinki fighter known as “Rude Jussi” stopped both of his opponent with the CAGE promotion in 2015, stopping both of his opponents. In the Finn’s last bout at CAGE 32, he faced Julien Piednoir who defeated Halonen’s training partner Mikko Ahmala at Cage 29. Halonen seemed a man possessed as he stormed Piednoir quickly on the first round. Eventually, Halonen countered Piednoirs takedown ub the second round and locked in a slick japanese necktie to force a tap.

“There haven’t been any injuries and I hope to stay healthy until the fight in February. I’ve also got a new strength and condition coach and we’ve been putting in the hours.” says the welterweight.

Halonen made his pro debut in 2011 and has since earned a record of six wins and 3 losses.

“I’ve got a 3-fight contract with CAGE and I’m aiming at winning all of them and we’ll see what happens after that.” says Halonen, that doesn’t have an opponent yet for next month’s event. No other matchups have been announced.
