Kenneth Bergh (6-0) was set to face Modestas Bakauskas (5-2) from Lithuania this Saturday at Cage Warriors 93 in Gothenburg.  Betsafe broke news first, and MMA Viking has confirmed that the Norwegian light heavyweight has been removed from the card.  “I received a concussion during training for the match, and unfortunately I cannot compete on Saturday.”

“I’ve been trying to book a fight and finally the perfect show in Gothenburg on what I consider virtually home turf proved to be the show where I’d finally be able to compete once again and I couldn’t be more excited.” says Bergh before the injury occurred.

“It has not really sunk in yet.  Unreal.” – Bergh

The undefeated Norwegian passed the toughest test of career last June as the light heavyweight stopped Norman Paraisy (15-4-2-1) in London.  The Frontline Academy fighter submitted the former title challenger in the second round.

“It was the doctor who told me he had to give me quarantine so I could not fight, so it was not a decision I took myself. I would love to fight, but a concussion is not something to be taken care of. Then just listen to the doctor’s advice.”

“I hope to be back again soon”

Bergh was selected for The Ultimate Fighter Season 23 in 2016, where he lost an exhibition bout to Eric Spicely (who went on to go into the UFC) to get into the house. Kenneth has since won three fights, bringing his official record to 6 wins and 0 losses.

It is unclear if Bukauskas will remain on the card.
