Emil Weber Meek (9-2, 1 NC) will face Kamaru Usman (11-1) on January 14 on the UFC St. Louis card. The UFC announced the official move to the Scottrade Center from the originally scheduled UFC 219 year-end card in Las Vegas.

The drama of the scheduled bout has gone on for the last two months as “Valhalla” revealed a potential delay in receiving his visa, and Usman sought bigger names for a matchup, calling the matchup with the Norwegian a “stay busy fight.”

“They were lacking a real welterweight brawl on the UFC card in St.louis so they moved us there!” – Meek

Meek originally thought UFC 220 on January 20 would be the new destination of the bout, moving on to the next PPV, but the UFC pushed it to St. Louis instead. After the Valhalla Army kept a full force “ducking” campaign, it seems Usman has finally settled on this match instead of chasing Colby Covington and Saturday’s winner RDA.
