A women’s bantamweight contest between Pannie Kianzad (12-5) and Brazilian Bethe Correia (11-4-1) has been rebooked for next month.

The pair were originally set to compete at UFC 250 on May 9 last month in Sao Paulo, Brazil. However, the event was eventually cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“Ready to put Sweden and Iran on the map again” says Pannie on social media following the official fight announcement.

But with the UFC schedule back on track, they will finally be able to throw down as they are now scheduled to face each other on the prelims of the upcoming July 25 Fight Island card. The full card — headlined by a middleweight encounter between Robert Whittaker and Darren TillAlexander Gustafsson (18-7) will also come of our retirement to take on former UFC champion Fabricio Werdum (23-9-1) on the main card.

Sweden’s Kianzad last competed at UFC Moscow in November when she outpointed Jessica-Rose Clark to return to the win column following her decision defeat to Julia Avila.

Correia is also coming off a win following her unanimous decision verdict over Sijara Eubanks back in September. She was previously winless in her previous three outings. The “Pitbull” challenged UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 190, where she was KO’s in just 34 seconds.
