It wasn’t the night that the Swede was hoping for, as he lost via via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) over the local Brazilian, in a back-and-forth where both fighters had their big moments.

Natal landed some big punches early in the bout, dropping the Nordic middleweight to the ground. Troeng fought to use his grappling once on the ground looking for submissions and offense off of his back and fighting to get back to his feet, but Natal’s power and grappling control on top made the difference.

The bout was awarded “Fight of the Night” on the card, earning both Natal and Troeng $50,000 bonus for their performance.

Rafael “Sapa” Natal improves his overall record to 17 wins, 4 losses, and draw with the win, and Tor Troeng drops to 16 wins, 5 losses, and a draw with the loss. The Brazilian is now on a 3 fight winning streak, winning four out of five in the Octagon.
