Today it was announced that Reza “Mad Dog” Madadi will face Michael Chiesa on the UFC on Fox 8 card. Madadi will fight for the first time in America as he steps in the Octagon for the July 27 event at Seattle’s Key Arena, the same venue that teammate Alexander Gustafsson competed at last December.

The Swede is coming off an exciting victory over Michael Johnson at the UFC in Sweden event, where he outwrestled then submitted the streaking American lightweight. $60,000 was earned for Madadi for Submission of the Night.

On the other hand, Michael Chiesa is undefeated at 9 wind and 0 losses overall, and he is the Ultimate Fighter 15 winner. The American defeated Finland’s Anton Kuivanen in February, so this is an opportunity for Madadi to take revenge for the Nordics.

In most eyes, Madadi is seen as undefeated in the UFC. He has submitted two opponents, and lost a very controversial split decision over Cristiano Marcello in Brazil last year.

It is undetermined if Madadi will be on the televised portion of the card.
