Jani Salmi (11-4) returned to Russia to face Ruslan Khisamutdinov (7-7) in his hometown of Kazan. “I think it is RNC or TKO victory for me” says the GB Gym fighter to MMA Viking, that did just that and got the rear-naked choke submission in the first round.

The Finn is now on a two fight winning streak with M1 Challenge. The lightweight outlasted Russian Nikolay Goncharov (2-1-1) at M-1 Challenge 87 in February.  It was a 15 minute war with the Finn battling to victory at the brand new M-1 Arena in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Another impressive win for Salmi that used effective ground and pound prior to the stoppage, as Khisamutdinov was a M-1 vet with 14 pro fights.
