The much discussed Cage Warriors 71, which was destined for Sweden before a clash with SMMAF, is not finalizing the card that will take place in Amman Jordan. The card will go down one day earlier than originally planned, so fighters will now fight on Friday August 22. There has been some changes, as now Swede Jack Hermansson will defend his title against Bulgarian Deyan Topalski (11-2) instead of Cheick Kone. The promotion released the 9 fight card, which leaves everyone an opponent except top Nordic female prospect Pannie Kianzad, who will wait and see who can be called at the last minute to step in.

(London, United Kingdom | Friday, August 8, 2014) – The CWFC middleweight world title will be on the line in the main event at Cage Warriors 71 at the King Hussein Youth City in Amman on Friday, August 22.

The event, which was recently moved from Stockholm to the Jordanian capital, will be headlined by the meeting of 185lbs champion Jack Hermansson and challenger Deyan Topalski.

Hermansson (8-2) clinched the vacant belt at CWFC 69: Super Saturday in June when he stopped Norman Paraisy via submission in the fourth round.

A 26-year-old Swede, Hermansson has a 5-0 record under the CWFC banner, which also includes wins over Ion Pascu and Ali Arish.

“I’m excited to be making my first title defence against a very good opponent but I’m confident that I’m the better fighter,” Hermansson said.

“I’m looking forward to putting on a show again for the brilliant Cage Warriors fans in Amman. I’m counting down the days at this stage.”

Currently riding a three-fight win-streak, Topalski (11-2) is a 31-year-old Bulgarian striker who has taken seven of his career wins inside the distance, six of which have come via (T)KO.

Having previously competed for highly-regard promotions such as M-1, Topalski has been stopped just once in a four-year professional career – against Russian star Michail Tsarev (28-4).

“This is undoubtedly the biggest opportunity so far in my career,” said Topalski. “I’m planning to make a big statement and take Jack Hermansson’s belt on August 22.”

Meanwhile, the switch of venue and date for CWFC 71 has resulted in changes to several of the originally-planned bouts for Cage Warriors’ tenth event of 2014.
