It is still not decided where the much anticipated rematch between Alexander Gustafsson and Jon Jones will take place. The date is set as September 27th, but the UFC 178 card may not end up in Toronto.

No Location Listed for UFC 178 Bout

As noted on the UFC.com page for the matchup, there is no location listed for the card. While originally the promotion was pushing for a UFC 177 slot on August 30th card in Vegas, Jones requested more time and with the UFC 178 card planned for Canada this was the assumption.

“We’re still trying to figure out where 178 is going to be,” said UFC Managing Director of Operations in Canada, Australia and New Zealand Tom Wright to MMAjunkie.com over the weekend. “A decision hasn’t been made. I’m waiting to hear from (UFC executives) Lorenzo (Fertitta) and Dana (White) on that, and we’ll probably find out next week because we obviously have some planning we have to do.”

The one thing that is for sure, is that Jon Jones has no interest in fighting in Sweden. “It won’t be Sweden. No chance,” Jones said. “I have no reason to. I’m the champ and he’s the challenger, I don’t find it appropriate for me to go to his back yard.” said the champ on the MMA Hour last month.
