Finn Aleksi Toivonen (7-0, 2NC) will face Australian Reece McLaren (13-7) in a showdown at ONE: REIGN OF DYNASTIES on October 9. “I’m very happy to get back to competing. And honoured to get a Co-Main Event slot and chance to compete for a spot in the top 5 of the toughest flyweight division in the world.” says the “Giant” to MMA Viking.

Toivonen’s record consists of 7 straight wins, along with 2 fights which were deemed No Contest. Toivonen signed with ONE FC based in Singapore, and won his first fight against Akihiro Fujisawa via RNC in the very first round at ONE Championship – Masters of Destiny back in July of 2019, but had surgery following the bout which was part of the delay in getting back to the cage.

“Covid-19 messed up my plans for the fastest recovery of all time so unfortunately the layoff became way longer than intended. But I’m healthy now and happy ONE is back with a full schelude! There are some training limitations here in Singapore, like we cannot grapple yet. But fighters fight and I will not let a opportunity like this slip through my fingers.I was told McLaren is ranked #5 in the division so I’m expecting a world class competitor.”

His opponent Reece McLaren is currently on a 1-fight winning streak, after suffering several losses in ONE FC. “The Lightning” has been a part of the promotion since 2015. Prior to his career in the ONE FC, he fought in numerous promotions in the region and has put a good amount of wins by submissions on his record.
