Jack Hermansson (20-5) was supposed to take on former UFC champ Chris Weidman (14-5) in UFC Oklahoma City in May, but with the impact of the coronavirus, the Swede is now booked to face Kelvin Gastelum (15-5, 1 NC) at UFC Fight Night on July 18.  The bout was first reported by ESPN and the “Joker” has shared the news via social media.

Hermansson is. currently ranked as the #6 contender and Gastelum #7 in the middleweight division.

The Swede had an amazing 2019, submitting David Branch in the Nordic submission of the year, eraning a 5-round victory over Ronaldo Souza on short notice, and climbing up the ranks to the #6 UFC contender before losing to Jared Cannonier (13-4) at UFC in Denmark.

Gastelum has been recovering from a knee injury, and has lost back to back fights to Israel Adesanya and then Darren Till.

The bout is expected to take place on the mysterious “Fight Island” which is in a location that has not been revealed.
