Finnish MMA stars Tom Niinimäki and Juho Valamaa did not fear to meet dozens of hungry challengers when they took part in last weekend’s Brazilian jiu-jitsu 2015 finnish team championships. Niinimäki and Valamaa represented FinnFighters’ Gym in this yearly clash of grappling teams organized by Finnish Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu federation.  MMAViking.com contributor Jarno Juutinen  was matside to capture the action.

Tom Niinimäki faced a tough challenger in BJJ 2014 Finnish champion purple belt Arttu Jaakkola of Oulun kamppailuklubi. Niinimäki was able to secure a win by points with a rock solid top control and by patiently grinding his opponent in the former UFC fighter’s sole fight on Sunday.

Valamaa instead had a much busier day as he fought total of 4 times winning 3 of his first matchups and only losing in the finals. The man to stop Valamaa was Marek Merisalu of BJJ Center. Valamaa will be returning to grappling action on the 4th of April at Takakuristus 2 main event where he will lock horns with Johan Vänttinen of Helsinki Hardknocks in submission-only grappling fight.
