Katja “Killer Bunny” Kankaanpää has been signed to Invicta Fighting Championships, and faces Brazilian Juliana “Ju Thai” Carneiro Lima on April 5 in Kansas City, Missouri. The 115-pound bout was announced by the promotion today, making Kankaanpää the second Nordic fighter to fight on the promotion behind Sweden’s Elina Nilsson.

Finland’s Kankaanpää scored one of her biggest wins this December when she beat Aisling Daly at Cage Warriors 51. The Finn is undefeated (7-0-1), and now will complete outside of Europe for the first time. Killer Bunny is the number one ranked Nordic fighter, and has been Female Fighter of the Year for the last two years for MMA Viking.

Carneiro Lima is also undefeated (5-0-0) and fights out of Brazil. She will face off versus Kankaanpää at strawweight of 115lbs.

Invicta Fighting Championships 5 is headlined by a bout between champion Jessica Penne and Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson. Barb “Little Warrior” Honchak fights Vanessa Porto for the 125lbs. vacant title. See the fight card below Ö
