The highly regarded grappling tournament ADCC will be held this time in Beijing, China on the 19th and 20th of October. Last week the competitors by weight classes were announced by the organization. Nordic participants this year will be Timo-Juhani Hirvikangas (Fin), Tero Pyylampi (Fin), Mikael Knutsson (Swe), former champion Jan Olav Einemo (Nor), Alexander Trans (Den) and Janne-Pekka Pietiläinen (Fin) in men’s category. Ida Hansson of Sweden will be the only Nordic female to compete in Beijing.
Out of the bunch Hirvikangas is the only active MMA fighter. In the under 145 pound weight class Hirvikangas will face high level competition lead by current champion Rafael Mendes and stars like Rubens Charles and Jeff Glover.
