One of the very few active heaveweights in Nordic, Marko “Battery” Patteri (4-2), has announced his retirement from MMA. Our content partner FightSport.fi reported that the Finn will focus on strongman competitions in the future which is something that he has done before also. Patteri’s last fight was at Fight For Glory – Round 2 in October when he lost to Dmitri Poberezhets by TKO in the third round.
“DARE Championships just offered me a fight but I declined and ended my career at the same time. I will probably have couple of American Boxing fights at some point but other than that I will focus on strongman competitions. It’s the combination of age, work and family. MMA takes so much dedication that I don’t have enough time for it anymore.
