Suvi Salmimies (3-0-1) improved her undefeated record to three wins, this time against a true veteran in Karla Benitez (10-8) Saturday night in Helsinki. “She has been fighting as long as I’ve been practicing” says Salmimies about here tenured opponent shortly after her Cage 29 victory.

The MMA UTTI had a big 3rd round, including a 1 point deduction from Benitez for grabbing the fence, leading to a nod on the judges scorecard. “Why can’t I take her down” joked the energetic fighter that couldn’t figure out why she couldn’t bring the visiting fighter to the ground that had her fingers wrapped in the fence.

Salmimies Lands a Kick on Benitez

“I’m really green. I’m always different fight to fight.” says the developing fighter came into the fight looking for a stoppage and show off her improved footwork and bosing.  The Finn is set to return to action in May at Cage 30.
