Bruno Carvalho’s camp has protested the bout against Marius Zaromskis, which was held at Rumble of the Kings on the 26th of November 2011. MMA Viking has learned that the protest includes the much YouTube watched “somersault kick” that lead to the finish, where Carvalho’s corner claims struck to the back of the head –see video below.

Another topic is the use of Vaseline, which Carvalho’s camp claims was used in excess on the Lithuanian fighter giving him an unfair advantage. The bout was stopped at the urging of “BC” in the 1st round to investigate the matter, but the fight continued shortly after.

The Swedish MMA Federation has acknowledged receipt of the protest, and George Sallfeldt, President has stated:

“I have promptly, this day, sent this protest to the chairman of the SMMAF Assessment Committee. The SMMAF Assessment Committee has a processing period of two weeks from the day of receipt of the protest.”

“As always the documentation from the Assessment Committee will contain both an argumentation for their ruling as well as the communication between the protesting party and SMMAF.” “The federation believes that it is important to be open and transparent in these cases since many people are interested in and have opinions about the rulings.”
