“I know that I have to be ready from the first second but believe that I can wear him down and take the win.” said the Dane to before taking the short notice bout. And that is just how it went. Barnø describes the bout to MMAVikign.com shortly after.

Hard 1st round. Lots of clinch against the cage from both of us. Rob was holding the cage. He was tentative and then surprised us by throwing hard body kicks. He threw a right overhand and I was stunned to my knees. I recovered guard and the round ends.

Second round he looked tired and I clinch him up. Hard knees to the body and his head. I take him down with a single leg but he gets straight up and we return to clinch. Then I turn up the heat and knee him hard followed by a clinch. Half the round done and I trip him with an outside foots weep straight to mount. Elbows and hard punches which opens up a huge cut on his forehead. A few more good elbows and the referee stops the match. Victory!

Barnø was also awarded a the “Finish of the Night” for his effort on the card.

The Dane won his pro debut at Trophy MMA 4 by punches over Jakub Holub in the first round, which after tonight takes the up and coming heavyweight moves to 2 wins and 0 losses in his young professional MMA career.
