Anton Kuivanen (22-8) is already back in the gym (it’s 50 meters from his apartment) and ready to continue his new phase in his career. “I had a good first part of my career, very bumpy second part of my career, and I think this year we started the third part… it’s going to be conquering and winning.” says the Finn to MMAViking.com in its interview series Fika Time sponsored by Warrior Coffee.

“The thing that gets me excited is facing tough opponents, and giving everything I got and coming out a winner.” says the former UFC fighter that still has eyes on being the best in the world. He may get a chance to prove that he belongs if he can get in the cage with another former UFC lightweight in Sweden’s Reza Madadi. “That’s one of the most interesting fights you can make in Europe.”

While the promotion has been debated as to who would host an event, since Superior Challenge was attached to the bout originally, it seems Cage would be the most likely now. “If we want to make it happen this year, then it’ll probably be in Cage. They are loyal to me, and I am loyal to them.”

Fresh of a dominant win over Sean Carter, Kuivanen may even fight this summer if the opportunity presents himself. “I have a deal with Cage. The next one will be in September and then November. There is a possibility of fighting somewhere else in the summer.”

“I’m feeling hungry” says Kuivanen as he looks forward to getting in the gym, that looks positively at the past and future of his MMA career. “I’ve been enjoying training, fighting and winning.”
