MMAViking.com continues its “Fika with” series, where we have a little chat and have some coffee (sponsored by the best from Warrior Coffee) with a distant fighter via video. This episode we talk with Glenn Sparv (11-3), the up-and-coming Finn now training at AKA Thailand.

“He didn’t realize what he was saying” responds Sparv about Jussi Halonen (5-3) recent callout to challenge the fellow Finn for his belt. Giving no indication that a fight back at CAGE was in the near future, or that the Hardknocks Helsinki fighter would be getting a shot at his belt.

“You can’t hide out at home and think the UFC will call you” says Sparv about his aggressive nature in taking fights on short notice, including his most recent bout against a “thai guy” with Pride rules on just a few days notice.

The #5 Nordic ranked welterweight gives us some background on why he left his small hometown and how he got “stuck” in Asia.

Following in the tradition of last Fika episode with Aleksi Nurminen, where he shared a picture, MMAViking.com shares a picture with Sparv from Botnia Punishment 10 back in 2011. Sparv also shows a boyhood picture of him and his cat, who was his first wrestling training partner at the age of 8.
