This will be the UFCΒ΄s first trip to Denmark. Β β€œThe Scandinavian market is very important to us” saidΒ James Elliott, Vice President and General Manager for EMEA, when MMAViking.com talked to him last year.Β β€œIt won’t be in 2016, but we will be back in 2017.” said the executive that looks like he is making true his assertion.

The Polish website has said that May 27th is the date and a bout will include the Polish heavyweight Damian GrabowskiΒ and DaneΒ ChristianΒ Colombo.

β€œI can’t be specific. I have reason to believe that the chances are good in the future.” revealed Nicolas DalbyΒ last September, when the UFC was scouting a location in his home country. Β Dalby is back in training and is an obvious choice to be on the card.

Another Dane signed to the UFCΒ Joachim Christensen should also expect to take up a slotΒ on the Copenhagen card in a high profile fight. Β The Arte Suave fighter is coming off an impressive UFC win overΒ Bojan Mihajlovic in Phoenix.

Also,Β Damir Hadzovic should see a place on the card as the Bosnian Bomber returns to action after his unsuccessful UFC debut against Mairbek Taisumov last April.

The newly opened Royal ArenaΒ in Copenhagen will play home to the event, which is opening up next month with three nights from Metallica.

The UFC has not been in the Nordics since the Tele2 Arena filled up withΒ over 30,000 fans back in January of 2015 with a headlining Alexander Gustafsson. Β While there have been rumors of the UFC landing in Finland,Β the Octagon has only been in Sweden. Β The debut in the Nordics was April 14, 2012.
