Fight Night 7 Card Shaping Up; Saarinen Versus Agaev Headlining

Fight Night promotion, an eastern Finland based fight show, will hold it’s seventh event on the 14th of April in the Lappeenranta Hockey Arena. Evening’s pro fight show is preceded by a national amateur MMA competition during the day.

Theme of the night seems to be Finland vs Russia as some of the best Finnish fighters will get a stiff challenge from highly regarded Russians. In the main event FinnFighter’s Gym’s top light heavyweight prospect Juha “Juice” Saarinen (7-1) fights another talented grappler in Baga Agaev (22-11).

Agaev, who is currently ranked #5 in the European LHW division, is known for excellent submissions skills. Saarinen is currently riding a six fight win streak and hasn’t lost in six years. Before this bout Saarinen will fight at the Cage 18event in early march.

Finland’s top ranked welterweight Ville Räsänen (11-3) fights Sergei Bal (9-7) in a welterweight bout. Both guys are known for their willingness to scrap so this fight should deliver entertainment for the crowd. Räsänen is also on the Cage 18 card where he is pitted against highly regarded Swede Assan Njie.

MMA Imatra’s Antti Virtanen (6-4) is looking to bounce back to winning ways after losing to Claes Beverlöv at Cage 17 in December 2011. That won’t be easy thing to do however as Virtanen faces Rusfighters’ Akop Stepanyan (8-3), who after losing his first three pro fights, has racked up eight consecutive wins.

In the high quality women’s bout StrikeForce veteran Maiju Kujala tries to give Ukrainian Lena Ovchynnikova her first career loss.

Few more fights will be added to the card according to the promoter.
