Alexander Gustafsson takes steps back to get another shot at the belt as he books a bout with another light heavyweight title challenger in Glover Teixeira. The bout will headline the UFC’s upcoming trip in Germany in June.  Our friends at Kimura.se initially reported the matchup, which has since been confirmed to several media outlets by Dana White.

Gustafsson Returns to Action

The Allstars Training Center fighter has amassed a 16 win and 3 loss pro record since stepping into the pro ranks in 2007.  The Mauler however looks to erase the memory of his last bout against Anthony Johnson at the Tele2 Arena in January, where the American stopped the Swede in the first round with punches.  Gustafsson’s title shot was taken from him in the matchup, and Johnson now gets the shot against Jon Jones.

Teixeira was one of the streaking fighters in the division as he won his first five Octagon bouts and geting a winning streak of 20 fights. However, he was dominated by champ Jones last year and most recently suffered a loss to Alliance’s Phil Davis in October.
