While the UFC has announced the signing of 11 fighters from Invicta FC to launch the strawweight division with The Ultimate Fighter 20, Nordic top ranked female Katja Kankaanpää will not be part of it.

Calderwood Heads to TUF, But Kankaanpää Remains

Dan White listed the 11 fighters that will kick-off the folming on May 18:
Carla Esparza (9-2), Alex Chambers (4-1), Claudia Gadelha (11-0), Felice Herrig (9-5), Bec Hyatt (5-3), Emily Kagan (3-1), Juliana Lima (6-1), Rose Namajunas (2-1), Tecia Torres (4-0), Paige VanZant (3-1) and Joanne Calderwood (8-0)

“She is not signed” confirmed Kankaanpää’s manager. “Katjas future is open, she have one fight left in Invicta and after that nobody knows what will happen.”

Killer Bunny lost for the first time against Joanne Calderwood in a tight battle at last week’s Invicta FC 7 card. Calderwood has been signed for the reality show. Seinajoki’s debut for Invicta in April was Juliana Lima, whom the Finn beat by unanimous decision. The Brazilian is also part of the TUF cast.

Time will tell what is next for one of the world’s top strawweight fighters, but it will not be on TUF 20.
