Finland’s Niko Puhakka had no luck during his bout yesterday at M-1 Challenge 40. Puhakka went for a takedown to start the bout, but injured his left knee in the process versus Mairbek Taisumov.

After continuing to go for take-downs without success, Puhakka was put on his back with a bodylock leading to a takedown within the first minute. Sensing the injury, Taisumov stood above the Finn and kicks his leg of the downed opponent forcing a tap due to injury 30 seconds later.

“Beckan” has an impressive 19 wins and 4 losses after the win, while Puhakka drops to to 28 wins and 14 losses.

The card was set in the hills of Russia, and headlined by Jeff Monson versus Magomed Malikov. Malikov won the bout in round in dominant fashion over the American.
