Not to be overlooked on the Superior Challenge X card this Saturday is a true battle of established Scandinavian fighters as Swede Diego Gonzalez battles Dane Frodi Hansen. “I have a lot of respect for Diego as a true veteran of the sport and I expect a tough and difficult fight on Saturday” says Hansen to MMAViking.com about the bout taking place at the Helsingborg Arena.

Gonzalez (15-10-1) has always taken the toughest fights out there, having exciting scraps against such notable names as Dan Hardy, Anton Kuivanen, Akihiro Gono and Arni Isaksson. He trains out of Allstars Gym in Sweden and on a four fight losing streak, most recently losing to Finn UFC veteran Anton Kuivanen at Superior Challenge 9.

Hansen (7-7-1) has had some ups and downs in his career, and his last appearance in Cage Warriors 66 against Finn Jussi Halonen he looked much improved against a tough Jussi. Ultimately it was ruled a No-Contest because of a “kick to head of grounded opponent”, although it was extremely close, the referee deemed it illegal. Frodi is also on a losing streak (3), against top names like Jussi and Emil Weber Meek.

“I have been through many ups and downs In my career but I feel now everything with my training is really paying off” says the welterweight Hansen.  “I have been through a decent evolution the last one and a half years, and I still have many more skills to show and I hope to show more of them on Saturday.”
