While the official weigh-ins took place today at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas in front of a thousand excited fans, Martin Svensson also quietly made weight behind the scenes. “I’m in vegas as an replacement in case somebody can’t fight” says the Big Swede to MMAViking.com.

Svensson Ready to Fight

The TUF 22 fighter never lost this season, winning to get into the house and again another win over American Thanh Le in the house.  An elbow injury prevented the Frontier MMA fighter from continuing in the competition in the quarterfinals.

While there is less than 24 hours till the fights, the possibility is slim for someone to get injured or sick…. but there are 10 lightweights fighting on the card!

Ryan Hall  and Artem Lobov are fighting for the TUF 22 title, but Svensson said he is also ready to step in and fight some of the other names on the card, which could include a replacement for one of the other four bouts:

Edson Barboza vs. Tony Ferguson
Evan Dunham vs. Joe Lauzon
Julian Erosa vs. Marcin Wrzosek
Chris Gruetzemacher vs. Abner Lloveras

The 30 year old is on a two fight winning streak in official bouts on top of the two for the show.  Svensson’s last loss came at the hands of Artem Lobov at Trophy MMA 3.
