Mads Burnell (9-3) has signed with Cage Warriors. News of the Arte Suave fighter moving on from the UFC and now signing with the European promotion was announced today by TV3Sport.dk.

The featherweight was having the fight of his life at UFC Liverpool on the main card at the Echo Arena.
The BJJ black belt was bobbing and weaving like many of his boxing idols while mixing in effective take-downs to control the odds favorite Arnold Allen (13-1) for the first 12 minutes of the bout. Unfortunately, the final result ended up with the UK fighter locking on a power guillotine to end the fight in the third round.

Mads ended his UFC run with 1 win and 2 losses, and entered the Octagon on a three fight winning streak. He lost his UFC debut loss to an overweight lightweight Michel Prazeres and a win over Mike Santiago in his second outing at featherweight in January.

Burnell hopes to fight this fall.
