Ilir Latifi (10-4-1) wanted a match, and now the Sweden based fighter has one. The UFC has announced a bout with American Sean O’Connell (17-6) on January 17 at Boston’s TD Garden Arena.
Latifi just cracked the top 15 in the UFC and got back on the winning track in July with a KO over Hans Stringer. Prior to that, Sledgehammer was stopped by Jan Blachowicz in Stockholm.

O’Connell has a two fight winning streak in the Octagon, most recently stopping Anthony Perosh in May. The 32 year old has ben fighting pro since 2007 and also beat Matt Van Buren in the Octagon.
That is headlined by a much anticipated bantamweight title fight between TJ Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz.
