Marcus “Caveman” Vänttinen is out of the Bellator tournament according to Fightsport.fi. Apparently Bellator doesn’t want to include Vänttinen in the light heavyweight tournament because he lost his Bellator debut by split decision at Bellator 66. MMA Viking reported earlier that Vänttinen might be fighting at Bellator 70. The idea behind this fight was to get Vänttinen back to win column and making eligible for the LHW tournament that starts in late June. Unfortunately for the Finn this plan fell through as the promotion was unable to make the fight happen.

The Caveman lost his Bellator debut by split decision to John Hawk

The disappointed Finn commented the situation to MMA Viking:

“The promotion couldn’t arrange me a fight before the tournament so I’m out of it. We made a proposal that I would fight elsewhere, for example in my hometown Porvoo’s event but that didn’t work out either. I have no idea when I’m fighting next”
