Niklas Bäckström (11-2-1) was set to face UFC vet Thiago Tavares (21-7-1) at ACB 65, but now he will instead face Andrew Fisher (15-8-1). The promotion announced the change today for the bout at the Sheffield Arena on July 22nd.

“Thiago got injured, I am very dissapointed beacause i was looking forward to test myself. But atleast Adrew Fisher steped up so i still have a fight” posts the UFC veteran on Instagram following the change.

The Allstars Training Center fighter was last in the cage at CAGE 37 back in November, where he broke his hand in a win against Finn Joni Salovaara. The 27-year-old has won three straight bouts since exiting the UFC back in 2015.

Fisher fights out of England’s Sunderland Fight Pit, and has fought for major promotions, including Cage Warriors, BAMMAR, and Bellator. This will be his second fight with ACB, as he fought UFC veteran Norman Parke at ACB 47 last October, where he lost by decision. He is taking the fight on two week notice.
