This Saturday’s Cage Warriors Fighting Championship will be headlined by Martin Svensson (14-6). The Big Swede will take on Englishman Scott Clist (11-2) at the Newport Centre in a lightweight battle. The TUF and UFC veteran is the only Nordic fighter on the CWFC 79 card.

Svensson was last in action against another Swede in David Teymur in his only official UFC bout. The Frontier MMA fighter was TKO’s in the second round back in February. The 31 year old Svensson is a three time Cage Warriors veteran, winning two and losing one in his CWFC 59, 66, and 71 bouts.

Clist will be looking for his third CWFC win in six months after defeating Brad Wheeler and Tim Wilde at CWFC 75 and CWFC 77. All of Clist’s wins have come via stoppage but Svensson, a former The Ultimate Fighter 22 competitor, is his toughest and most decorated opponent to date.

The main card starts at 8pm Stockholm time, and can be seen on UFC FIGHT PASS.
