Alexander Gustafsson took to social media to express his opinion of Jon Jones’ eighth straight title defense, stating he was “I am not impressed by your performance!”. The light heavyweight champion defended his belt over Daniel Cormier in a dominant victory over 5 rounds in the headliner of UFC 182 at the Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena.
The Swede will face Anthony Johnson at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm on January 24th. Johnson is off to a solid streak of eight consecutive wins (two in the UFC) while Gustafsson has won seven of his last eight, with the only loss being a close unanimous decision to champ Jon Jones at UFC 165. The winner of this bout will now be the next UFC light heavyweight title challenger.
“Bones” took all the score cards by 49-46 against “DC”, leaving no chance for a rematch against the Olympian and clearing way for the next title challenger to be winner of the upcoming Gustafsson versus Johnson.
