Swede Niklas Bäckström will fight German Attila Korkmaz at BAMMA 26.  “I am delighted to get the opportunity to sign with Europe’s leading MMA promotion.” says the Allstars Training Center fighter when he signed with the promotion. gnp1.de first announced the matchup that will go down on September 10.

The Swede was supposed to fight on the BAMMA 26 card at the 3 Arena in Dublin, Ireland on June 4th, but the event was postponed due to new medical requirements for the promotion. Bäckström has a 9 win, 2 loss, and 1 N/C record and gained the most attention with a front kick stoppage of Max Coga in 15 seconds and a successful debut in the UFC against Tom Niinimäki.

After dropping his last two fights in the Octagon, the 26 year old submitted Georgi Stoyanov at the Battle of Botnia 5 in November.

“I expect a hungry Niklas Bäckström, beaten by an even hungrier Attila Korkmaz” says Niklas’ opponent. He is on a two fight winning streak, but will take a big step up in competition to face the Luleå fighter.
