A new Danish organization has arrived on the scene, and with it’s TV agreement with a major player in TV 2 sport, Royal Arena is set to take MMA in Denmark to the next level. The first of four scheduled cards this year takes place on March 10 at Brøndby Hallen. The fight card for Royal Arena is stacked, with such local stars as Kenneth Rosfort, Mikkel Parlo, and Nicolas Dalby.
“We are very proud to present the result of many months of hard work. We expect that it will be the largest MMA show on Danish soil ever,” says CEO Adam Kessel in a statement. The events will have 3,000 – 4,000 fans, and will be supported with the major TV exposure to the public.
In a recent interview with MMAJunkie Radio, the UFC’s Martin Kampmann commented :
“They just had a big show announced in Denmark (by the Royal Arena promotion). They got a good television deal, and they’re going to be more exposed. The channel they show the UFC on in Denmark (now), not that many people have it, so not too many people get to see it.”
“[Royal Arena] got on a channel a lot of people get. They’re putting some money into it – into the production and stuff like that – so I’m looking forward to see what they’re doing.”
