Minna Grusander (5-1) will make her Invicta debut on Saturday, March 24, and the Finn is not happy just taking part in the leading woman’s organization. “There is no holder for the atomweight title at the moment. My goal is to change that, I’m going to bring the Invicta belt to Finland sooner than later.” says the IMMAF 2015 World Championships.

The FinnFighters Gym fighter won her last three fights and was MMA Viking’s 2017 Nordic MMA Women’s Fighter of the Year.

In November, “Brutsku” at FNF 15 with a first round rear-naked choke over Elena Belaya at Karkkila Fight Night card. Less than one month later, Minna stepped on up short notice to beat Hanna Gujwan at Ladies Fight Night 8 in Lodz, Poland that finally drew the attention from Invicta. “I turned my focus into training for this fight right after Christmas, when Invicta’s interest in me became apparent.”

Grusander Faces “Pitbull” in Invicta Debut

“Both me and the organization wanted a long contract. Of course, Invicta can end it one-sidedly, but they have a good reputation of taking care of fighters, and it should be easy to get a permit to fight somewhere else, if they cannot provide me fights as often as I need.”

The fighter out of Turku will face Fernanda Priscila “Pitbull” Barros Pinheiro (2-1) on the Invicta FC 28 card at the Union Event Center in Salt Lake City. It will be her Invicta debut also.

Pinheiro has a 2 win and 1 loss record, and will come into the bout with a win at Mix Combat 2 in August of 2015.  A long layoff for the 29 year old Brazilian fighter.
