Sirwan Kakai will make his return to the cage on September 29 on the Japanese promotion Pancrase’s card. The promotion is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and is putting on a star-studded fight card at the Yokohoma Gymnasium featuring two title fight and the first round of two eight-man tournaments at 135-pounds and 155-pounds.

Kakai Lands on Huge Card

Sweden’s Kakai will be in the 135-pound tournament, which has named “Shuichi Shimizu, Yuki Baba, Taichi Nakajima, Marcio Cesar, Joe Pearson, Sirwan Kakai and Daniel Swain” as confirmed for the 135-pound division.

“It is a great tournament with a lot of tough and experienced fighters.” says the #1 ranked Nordic fighter to ‘Zohan’ who trains at both GBG MMA in Gothernbur, Sweden and ATT in Florida is on a 9 fight winning streak.

The Swede is has stopped his last four opponents, and has been knocking on the UFC’s door for the last couple of years with his winning streak.

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge!” says Kakai, who would go to 12 wins and 0 losses with a tournament win. Kakai last fought at IRFA 4 in March, where he stopped veteran Jose Luis Zapater by TKO.
